- The Ailill Molt lineage appears to have one or two missing generations prior to Eógan Bél.
- It is expected that several of the currently independent Uí Néill subclades will be “unified” under one or more parent clades. Many of these subclades have too few samples/kits to identify any such “unifying” mutations currently.
- The Cenél Fiachach appears to be split across R1b-ZS8379 and R1b-FT17642 currently. A “unifying” mutation may be discovered in the future.
- Eógan Sríab’s descendants all appear to be under R1b-A259. The other 5 subclades of R1b-A18726 are then best attributed to his brother Ernán, who is given a quite extensive descendant genealogy before being abruptly dropped. It is anticipated that some of the 5 subclades will eventually be combined under one or more “unifying” mutations.
- Little is known about Cruitine other than a brief descendant genealogy under the heading of the Uí nErcca Céin
- The genealogy for the Uí Briúin Aí comes from Peter O’Connell’s King List. While it is divergent from almost all other genealogies, it is the only one that explains the Y-DNA.
- Assigning R1b-FGC5939 to the descendants of Eóchád Tírmchárnae arises from the fact he is the only known possibility; and preserves the consistent genealogy of the 3 sons of Fergus. It also explains certain anomalies in the annals.
